Amtrak Limits Service Due to Weather

Extreme weather conditions prompted Amtrak to cancel some of
its trains today. In all, four trains through Springfield did not make their
normal runs.

Amtrak says these cancellations were meant to limit risks to
employees as well as passengers because of the bitterly cold temperatures.

Winds chills in the Springfield area have been consistently
below zero, and further north, blowing snow is a concern.

ABC NewsChannel 20 talked to some routine Amtrak passengers
who had mixed feelings about the cancelled trains.

"I think they should've tried to keep what they
scheduled because a lot of people take the train," Antonio Wilbert said.

"I think it's the safest route, the best decision to
keep everyone safe. You have to understand that those things happen,"
Jessica Manning said.

Amtrak will be operating on a limited schedule again Tuesday. Several trains to and from Chicago have been cancelled. Click here for
