United Way Announces Fundraising Goal

DANVILLE -- Last year the goal was seven-hundred and ten thousand dollars.

The United Way was shy of that goal but organizers say they can get to seven-hundred thousand this year.
The organization raises money that stays in the community.

This year, a prize wheel will be used to promote and educate people about the organization and the need.

Thirty-one area organizations benefit by the funds raised by the United Way.

President Jeanne Mulvaney says, "We're kind of focusing, have a laser focus on reducing poverty and, how we do that for the last six or seven years, we have funded programs that are geared to help people improve their health, education or finical stability."

The United way accepts donations from individuals and companies and organizers say the community has always been very generous.

If you want to donate you can stop by at 28 West North Street in Danville or send a check in the mail.
