Vermilion County Maple Syrup Open House
VERMILION COUNTY--It only happens once a year, and the supply is very limited.
It's the Vermilion County Conservation District Maple Syrup Open House.
Sunday, hundreds of people packed forest glen preserve for a pancake and sausage dinner, featuring the pure maple syrup from the maple trees in the park.
The sap is collected for about a month leading up to this weekend. Then it is boiled, and the excess water is evaporated away, leaving just 100 percent pure maple syrup.
