ABC 20 EXTREME MAKEOVER
While the stars might have taken center stage, it took much more than T.V. magic to get this house off the ground.
After a whirlwind week the "center of the universe" has transformed into a Hollywood set.
"Just watching them. I never imagined they'd be here."
Interacting with stars has been a thrill, but the real stars are the people in blue.
"Just the awesome fact that we got to help somebody," said Lisa Branson
Volunteer Amanda Taylor explains, "They helped me out in my time of need and i figured it's just the right thing to do and to get the once in a lifetime experience."
Crews spent more than 100 hours transforming the Montgomery's house.
With the amount of volunteers that have pitched in it's put it together really quickly.
Day in and day out, not even heavy downpours could stop the volunteers.
Mike Olaughlin says, "seeing people get along with each other. You know they don't always get along any more you know i think it's a good experience. Everybody helps out."
While their individual parts seem small, Paul Palumo explains, "just to stay still and wait for that moment to do your part was extremely intense."
They realize the impact each individual job has.
"I mean if you can build a house in a week and it's already with grass and flowers and everything else it's just amazing."
The house may now belong to the Montgomery's but it will always belong to the volunteers and community that has embraced this family.
'I hope they keep it just like it is now."
"I truly believe we will be coming back around."
