M.I.A. IS NOT COMMENTING ON SUPER BOWL FLIP-OFF
NEW YORK (AP) -- M.I.A. is keeping quiet about flipping off 114 million people. Her Twitter account has been silent since she made an obscene gesture during her spotlight moment at Madonna's Super Bowl halftime performance Sunday. Her record label says it has no comment. Madonna has not commented either. Both NBC and the NFL has apologized. Digital video recorder maker TiVo says there are no appreciable bumps in playback for that moment. Compare that to Janet Jackson's 2004 wardrobe malfunction, which at the time became the most reviewed event on TiVo.

MADONNA TV RATINGS STRONG
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Madonna's Super Bowl halftime performance seems to have generated some interest with TV viewers. Viewership was up slightly compared to last year's halftime featuring the Black Eyed Peas, according to Nielsen. Madonna had 20 percent more viewers than when Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at halftime in the 2009 Super Bowl.
J. COLE PLANS FOR THE GRAMMYS
NEW YORK (AP) -- J. Cole knew his debut album, "Cole World: The Sideline Story," would be good enough for Grammy consideration. That's why he pushed his label to release it before the cut-off date. By the time the Grammy nominations came out, he had a change of heart: he figured no one would have noticed the album. The Recording Academy noticed. Cole is nominated for best new artist. He's all set for the ceremony, too, with a suit he calls "fire." He usually procrastinates on getting clothes and he's forgotten what it's like to wear a suit but he says this one feels good.

DAVE GROHL WON'T PLAN A GRAMMY SPEECH
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- If the Foo Fighters win a Grammy on Sunday, Dave Grohl plans to wing it on the acceptance speech. The Foo Fighters are up for six Grammys, including album of the year for "Wasting Light." Grohl says he never plans acceptance speeches, because his father was a speechwriter and his mother taught public speaking. He says the one thing he's learned is never to read a speech. He says having one prepared will jinx it anyway, and "The last thing you want to do is walk out of there with a speech in your pocket that you didn't get to read."
SLASH COLLABORATES WITH MYLES KENNEDY ON SECOND SOLO ALBUM
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Slash liked having Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy sing for him on tour so much that he's having Kennedy sing everything on his next record. Slash says he and Kennedy have written all the songs for his as-yet-untitled album. Slash calls Kennedy "very musical," "very lyrical" and "just a really powerful singer." He say there are a lot of positives about the way Kennedy sings. They have been filming the making of the album and this week started posting footage on YouTube. Search for "Slash in the Studio." The album comes out May 22.
