The Champaign Unit 4 School District has recently appointed Dr. Laura Taylor as the new assistant superintendent for achievement and pupil services.
Judy Wiegand, Champaign Superintendent, said coming into her own new position, she knew she would need to find the right fit.
Meanwhile, in Urbana, a new superintendent has been appointed, Dr. Don Owen, who currently serves as the assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, has been promoted.
This decision comes after the announcement of Dr. Preston Williams' retirement.
John Dimit, Urbana School Board President, said promoting Dr. Owen to superintendent only seemed logical, after the shared experiences he's had with Dr. Williams.
