CHAMPAIGN-- Money from holiday campaigns have fallen short this year for area organizations. Both the Salvation Army and Developmental Services Center in Champaign are thousands of dollars behind
in their goals. DSC is $14,000 short, bur officials are still
hopeful, since their Tree of Hope
campaign doesn't officially end until January 31st. Meanwhile the Salvation Army set
a goal of $430,000 this holiday season, just $5,000 dollars more
than what was donated last year. But it too fell short by
45-thousand dollars. Because that number was so
great, the organization is being forced
to make cuts in other areas.
