IN THE KITCHEN
Ingredients:
Vegetable Oil – 2 tablespoons
Ghee (clarified butter) – 2 tablespoons (optional)
Paneer Pieces – 8 oz (cubed and lightly fried)
Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
Red Chili Powder – 1 to 1 ½ teaspoon
Garam masala powder – ½ teaspoon
Sugar – 1/4th teaspoon
Peas – 3/4 cup
Water – 3/4 cup
Tomatoes - 1/2 cup finely diced
Ginger garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
Cilantro – fistful finely chopped
Half and half – 2 tablespoons
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Cut paneer into one inch cubes , shallow-fry in ghee (clarified butter) or oil and keep aside.
2. Chop onion and tomato fine. Keep aside.
3. Heat oil in a skillet and when oil is hot add onion and sauté until onion is light brown.
Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric, salt, chili powder, garam masala and sugar. Fry on medium
heat for 3-4 min.
4. Add the finely diced tomato and fry for another 3-4 minutes on high heat. Reduce heat to medium, add water.
5. Cook until the water content has reduced by half and now add pre fried cottage cheese (paneer) pieces, half and half, peas and stir well. Cook covered on low heat for 3 minutes.
6. Garnish with cilantro
