IN THE KITCHEN
For caramel sauce:
1/2 stick butter
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup light brown sugar
1 tbsp. milk
Melt butter over medium heat.
Add remaining ingredients and stir until melted and creamy.
Set aside to cool to room temperature
For grilled fruit:
2 yellow bananas, not too ripe, cut lengthwise
8 – 12 large strawberries, cut in half, green tops removed
3 – 4 canned pineapple rings
white sugar
brown sugar
vanilla ice cream
ice cream sundae toppings: chocolate syrup, whipped cream, cherries
Mix together even parts brown and white sugar. Dip fruit, cut side down, into sugar mixture. Heat grill pan or outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Place fruit, sugar side down, on grill and cook 2 – 3
minutes until they have nice grill marks. Remove fruit and cool to room temperature, cut into bite
sized pieces. Serve over ice cream with homemade caramel and favorite
sundae toppings.
