GOLDEN APPLE AWARD
URBANA - With 15 years in Urbana schools, she has more experience than a lot of teachers. And it's that commitment to students that makes Carol McTaggart this week's Golden Apple Award winner.
Ms. Mctaggart is a teacher's assistant in Urbana High School, where she works with both traditional & special needs students. She's developed a personal bond with so many kids just by remembering their birthday's and making sure they get a day to celebrate.
"You know when you're not given an even playing field, and then you see somebody succeed, and how happy they are about themselves in succeeding. Seeing that, that's all that counts."
