GOLDEN APPLE AWARD
Mrs. Edwards has been teaching special education at Thomas Paine Elementary in Urbana for nearly a decade, always making sure each of her students get one-on-one attention. She's also worked hard to secure grants to create learning opportunities outside of the classroom.
Her job can be tough, but she says she feels privileged to be able to work with her students.
"It's very challenging, it is, but it kind of balances out when you see that growth, when you see them learn something new it just makes up for all the other challenges that you go through everyday."
Congratulations Mrs. Edwards.
If there's a terrific teacher in your student's life, please let us know about them. Just send an email to news@wicd15.com with "Golden Apple" in the subject line.
