Dorothy Ann David, the current assistant city manager is the only internal candidate. And Tuesday night during a closed session meeting, City Council members decided to negotiate a contract for Davis. As of now the search process has been suspended.
Any contract agreement would be considered by the city council at a future meeting. If selected David would replace Steve Carter, who is set to retire in March.
