PAMPA MUSEUM-BOMB

PAMPA, Texas (AP) -- A military museum in the Texas Panhandle is going nuclear. The Freedom Museum USA in Pampa now has the casing from a U.S. nuclear bomb. The B53 bomb was the biggest of the U.S. nuclear weapons. It weighed five tons and was the size of a minivan. Of course, the nuclear guts of the bomb have been removed. Museum officials say the relic will help tell the story of the Cold War.

MAINE HIGHWAY GOATS

SIDNEY, Maine (AP) -- Got your goat? The answer is no for a Maine goat owner and he's going to pay. Goats keep escaping from Mark Gould's property and getting onto the shoulder of I-95. Gould complained they were getting through a fence along the highway and it was the state's responsibility to fix it. The Kennebec Journal reports the goats got out again, after the fence was repaired. An animal control officer says Gould will be given a summons for his wandering animals.

SMOKING BAN-BEACHES

SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- Bring your beach towel and sunscreen -- but leave your smokes at home. Oregon is taking steps to ban smoking on all 362 miles of beaches along the Pacific coast. The state Parks and Recreation Department has all ready snuffed out smoking at most other state parks. The agency is taking comments on the proposed beach ban through next month. Lighting up on the beach could cost offenders 110 bucks, but officials say the fine would only be imposed on repeat offenders. Supporters say a beach smoking ban would reduce litter and make rules consistent throughout the parks.

LOTTERY WINNER-LARGE FAMILY

BEACHWOOD, N.J. (AP) -- It's a fortune split 20 ways. The Endreson family of Ocean County, New Jersey, will be sharing a $20 million Pick-6 lotto jackpot. A state lottery spokeswoman says the family has 17 brothers and sisters, ranging in age from 53 to 76. The prize will also be shared with three children of a brother who died a few years ago. The family has decided to take a lump sum payment of 14 mil.
